Roulette is a simple casino game to learn. But serious players will want to discover the different payouts, odds and strategies available to get the most out of their experience. If you're new to Roulette, we recommend reading through this section so you can get to grips with the basics of the game, such as how to play, and understand the odds and payouts.
How to win at Online Roulette
To win a round of Roulette, you need to predict the pocket the ball will eventually land in. You can place your bet on a range of numbers, multiple numbers, or just one single number.
Online Roulette board layout
There are many variations of Online Roulette, and while they may look different from each other and feature numerous betting options, they all function the same way. On the betting board, you will see all the available bets you can make. Popular wagers include single bets or betting on a broad range of numbers such as Red/Black, or 1-18.
Once you're ready to place your first bet, select a chip and place it on the betting table where you want to wager. You can stack multiple chips on top of each other, E.g. 3 x ZAR10 chips on the same betting position means your total wager will be ZAR30. You can place bets on multiple positions at the same time.
The different types of Roulette bets
Most Roulette betting boards are split between 'inside bets' and 'outside bets'. 'Inside bets' have higher payouts but lower odds. Betting on a single number can payout 35:1, but your chances to win are much lower than betting on a range of numbers
'Outside bets' on the other hand payout smaller amounts, but your chances to win are much higher. You can bet on 'inside' and 'outside' bets at the same time. To see the complete list of Online Roulette payouts, see the table in the Odds and Payouts section below.
The Roulette wheel and numbers
When you're finished placing your bets, it's time to spin the Roulette wheel and see the outcome. After selecting the 'spin' button, the Roulette wheel will begin to turn, and it releases the ball in the opposite direction. Did you correctly guess where the ball landed? If yes, you'll automatically receive your winning payout. And a new round of betting begins.
It's important to note that each Roulette wheel may be ordered differently depending on the variant you're playing. French Roulette and European Roulette have 36 numbers (1-36) and one green zero pockets (37 pockets in total). American Roulette is similar but includes an extra pocket, the double green zero.
All of our Roulette games include an in-depth Help Section which provides information on how to play, the different bets and payouts available, as well as the game's individual table limits.
