Caribbean Stud Poker is for those who are comfortable with playing a standard Poker hand and are ready to try their hand at something new and even more exciting.
There are a couple of stories going around about where this version actually came from but they all agree on one thing – it started becoming popular in Aruba, hence the name Caribbean Stud Poker.
You’ll find this game at many of the online casinos recommended by Mansion Casino, so when you’re ready to take your game to the next level, try it out.
How to Play Caribbean Stud Poker
You’ll start off by placing an ante bet, which is a bet that you place before you even start playing. At this point, you can also choose to place a progressive jackpot side bet.
The dealer and each player will be dealt 5 cards. The players’ cards will all be face-down while the dealer will have 1 of his 5 cards face-up. You can check out your own cards but do not reveal them to anyone else. Based on what you have, you can choose to either fold or raise. If you fold, you forfeit your ante bet and the progressive side-bet, if you placed one.
If you go the raise route, then you’ll need to place a raise bet which is double in value to the ante bet. Once this is done, the dealer will reveal all. This is where it gets even more interesting, because the dealer actually has to qualify for the game to even continue.
To make the cut, the dealer needs to hold at least an Ace and a King in their hand. If they don’t qualify, the round will end, the raise will push and the player will be paid out even money on the ante bet. If the dealer does qualify, there are a couple of scenarios that could play out – either the dealer wins, the player wins or there is a tie. There are different payouts depending on what happens here.
If the dealer is the winner, the player will lose both his bets. If the player wins, they will be paid out on the raise according to the paytable, and even money on their ante bet. Now if there’s a tie, both the player’s ante wager and raise will push.
Caribbean Stud Poker and The Progressive Jackpot
And don’t forget the progressive jackpot side-bet! This has its very own paytable because there are lots of ways to win different portions of the total jackpot pool, depending on what Poker combinations you get. The best you can get though is the Royal Flush, because this will win you the total progressive jackpot prize, which will be a very generous amount as progressive jackpots always are.
Head on over to the place where the sun always shines and enjoy the pleasures of the Caribbean all the way from your very own living room. With Caribbean Stud Poker, you’ll always have a fun and exciting casino game to play.
